One Afternoon

We hardly ever pass up the chance to have the
grandchildren for an afternoon. This week, I got to get 3 of them at school. I don't know who was more excited! They all walked up to their great grandparents and got Brooklynn, and then convinced Papa that they wanted to see the pond that their father used to go to out back. Armed with the camera, Papa and the 4 kids headed out the back door.

They each took turns taking the picture. They all did pretty well, and the light was just perfect.

Dawson not only lost his first tooth this past week, but his second as well. He has a cute little lisp and whistle now, but as the bigger teeth come in, I'm sure that will subside. Time marches on.

First Day of School

The first day of school. It was a warm day, record breaking here in Maine. But the kids were so excited. Even Brooklynn, although she really didn't understand that her 3 older siblings would be gone for the day. They were all in their new clothes, smiles on their faces, and ready to start back to the school schedule.
Kloe is ready for first grade. She was ready, and said she really loved her first day!

Dawson started kindergarten this year. He was most excited to ride the bus. And his 2 big sisters were there to help him.

Where did those babies go? Lexy is maturing way too fast. She still likes to cuddle in my lap occasionally, but with her long legs, it's hard to get my arms around all of her. But you can bet, I try my hardest!

Catching Frogs

I think our grandchildren are having lots more fun than our kids had as children. Or maybe we just have more time to watch them enjoying themselves. They have a small pond out back, and Lexy has become quite the frog catcher. She really likes the big bull frogs, but on this day, she only caught 3 little ones. I love the way the sky is reflecting on the surface of the water.

Smiles all around. They certainly love being outside.

Fall Birthdays

We celebrated 4 birthdays one evening. The boys and their girlfriends all have birthdays with in 7 weeks of each other, so we had an "adult" evening to celebrate. We enjoyed not only each others' company, but also a wonderful meal, cake and ice cream, and watching some deer come out to eat. I would never pass up an opportunity to have a visit with the grandchildren, but this was a wonderful evening. Happy Birthday all!

Some flowers

Playing around with my camera on night setting, and some of the flowers in my back yard.

Tried to capture the almost full moon, but it just doesn't do it justice.

Pool Fun

July and August were hot and dry. Lots of good days on the back deck, and in the pool. This kids have enjoyed the water, and started swimming. By the looks of their faces, I think they enjoy their time in the pool.

This one cracks me up. But by using the goggles, she has learned to swim with her face in the water, almost all the way across the pool.

July Activities

Well, it's now September, and I haven't posted anything for a while. The summer has been one of the best for the pool, and especially the grandchildren. The grill has been hot almost every night, the new deck has been well used, and it just is hard to imagine life can be any better than this.

We all made a trip to the county for my nephew's wedding. It was wonderful. We stayed in a delightful log cabin on Shin Pond, with an amazing view, and peaceful surroundings. Here are some photos from that trip.

Some of the most amazing views are right here in our own back yards.
